VESTING – Growing Through Challenge | March 2024 | Microsoft’s Tel Aviv Towers

On the 50th floor of the Microsoft complex in Tel Aviv, hundreds of entrepreneurs, investors, representatives of venture capital funds, and key figures from the worlds of innovation and finance gathered at the initiative of the Firefly Foundation in partnership with WeCcelerate. The purpose of the event was to provide up-to-date insights on the investment market in 2024 and to examine the challenges that the changing economy poses to entrepreneurs and startups in Israel.

During the conference, professional panels, inspiring lectures, and discussions were held with leading figures in the industry. Yodfat Harel Buchris, Managing Partner at Blumberg Capital, provided a broad perspective on expected investment trends, key challenges, and anticipated opportunities for entrepreneurs.

One of the central sessions dealt with the impact of artificial intelligence on the field of investment, with the participation of Shashi Elia, former head of the Information Technology Division of the Shin Bet and currently a partner at Firefly, Raz Bachar, Director of Microsoft for Startups, Ziv Elul, co-founder of Pery and serial entrepreneur, and Ido Sabag, CTO of WeCcelerate and partner at Firefly.

Rinat Berman, CEO of Fundit, shared innovative approaches to crowdfunding and presented how crowdfunding can be leveraged as a tool for raising capital in an era of economic uncertainty.

Another panel focused on investment challenges in volatile market conditions, with the participation of Liron Azrielant, Founding Partner of Meron Capital, Merav Shiri, Managing Partner of HCS Capital, Roni Patishi Haim, Partner at MoreVC, and R’, former Deputy Head of the Shin Bet and partner at Firefly, who provided a unique perspective on security influences on the investment sector. Amir Shaul, angel investor and former International Treasurer at Intel, completed the discussion with a broad perspective on financial risk management.

Alon Pinhas, CEO of WeCcelerate and partner at Firefly, presented the complex path that leads startup companies from establishment to a successful exit, while sharing insights from the field on the challenges that accompany the process.

One of the most intriguing moments of the conference was the lecture by R’, former Deputy Head of the Shin Bet, who provided a first glimpse into the exposure of a significant business fraud affair, while detailing ways to identify early fraud mechanisms and how to prevent falling into dangerous financial traps.

The event provided participants with a unique opportunity to connect with leading investors, be exposed to new opportunities, and understand how to deal with the changing capital market.
